Enrollment and Application Process
PRE-K
The formal process for incoming Pre-K students begins in December when applications are made available to current ICS and parish families, and later, the wider Clarksville community. In February, Screenings will be scheduled for all prospective incoming Pre-K students. The Screening process is used to establish a baseline for classroom instruction and curriculum implementation. The curriculum is set by the Catholic Schools Office of Nashville and meets the Tennessee Department of Education licensing standards. Parents are contacted shortly after the completion of Screenings to discuss results and complete the enrollment.
A child must be four (4) years of age, and fully potty-trained, on or before August 15 of the enrollment year to enter Pre-K 4.
A child must be three (3) years of age, and fully potty-trained, on or before August 15 of the enrollment year to enter Pre-K 3.
A child must be two (2) years of age on or before August 15 of the enrollment year to enter Pre-K 2.
KINDERGARTEN
The formal process for incoming Kindergarten students begins in December when applications are made available to parish families, and later, the wider Clarksville community. In February, one-on-one assessments will be scheduled with the kindergarten teacher. Parents are contacted shortly thereafter to discuss results and complete registration.
A child must be five (5) years of age on or before August 15 of the enrollment year to enter kindergarten.
For the 2014-2015 school year and all school years thereafter, a child entering kindergarten must be five years old on or before August 15. T.C.A. 49-6-201(b)(3).
FIRST GRADE
Incoming first graders should be six (6) years of age on or before August 15 of the enrollment year. ICS requires the parent or guardian to show evidence that your child has attended a kindergarten program.
*T.C.A. 49-6-201(d)
GRADES TWO THROUGH EIGHT
Upon submission of your child's application, their most recent school report/evaluation on their academic and disciplinary performance will be reviewed. A shadow day will be scheduled to visit and be academically assessed. Your child will be tested in reading, math and writing skills. In addition, the current enrollment of siblings in other grades will be considered in the interest of maintaining family unity.
Class Size and Order of Admission
Immaculate Conception School reserves the right to maintain an order of priority for admission of students. ICS gives preference to Catholic students of registered and contributing families living within the parish.
Class size is determined by the laws of the State of Tennessee and standards of Advanced. If there are more applicants than places in a class, a priority order listing will be used. The order of priority will be as follows:
Tuition and Fees
The Pastor, in consultation with the School Advisory Board and the Parish Finance Council, sets the tuition yearly. Tuition may be paid annually or on a monthly basis. Payments for each year begin in July.
The school reserves the right to cancel the registration of any student whose family fails satisfactorily to meet tuition and fee payments during the preceding semester or in such cases to require full tuition payment in advance of registration acceptance. The school reserves the right to withhold re-registration and to deny readmission unless all delinquent fees are paid.
Tuition and fees are published yearly in early spring. See Statement of Tuition & Fees for the current school year below.
Report cards will not be issued if a family’s account is delinquent. ICS will not release student records or test scores until all obligations to ICS have been fulfilled.
TUITION SUBSIDY
Immaculate Conception Parish families may apply for subsidized lower tuition. Families will be required to follow the official subsidy card policy to qualify and receive the subsidy. See below for our subsidy card policy.
TUITION ASSISTANCE
Payment plans are available for tuition. There is also limited financial aid based on need available to families. Please contact the school office for more details.
